Purebred Friesian Mares

Ebony Park is home to the following purebred mares (click on the individual mare photos for more information):

Ebony Park also undertakes a crossbreeding program.  We do this because we believe there are many benefits to crossing a performance purebred Friesian over select mares.

Half Friesian / Half Thoroughbred

When crossing a half Friesian back to a purebred Friesian you are almost getting horse that will look and behave like a pure bred Friesian.  The best part about it from the buyers perspective, is the lower pricetag.  As these horese will not be allowed into the main Friesian studbook they are not for people interested in going on to breed purebred Friesians but as dressage horses they are excellent.  The thoroughbred adds lightness to the excellent temperament, trainability and movement from our amazing Friesian stallions.  Both “Carrock” mares in our breeding program are full or half sister to FEI horses The Carrock Tambo and The Carrock Victor. The third mare, Anika, is by Ebony Park Abe, who is currently competing and winning at the Inter II level in dressage. With these bloodlines the potential is there for the horses to also break through the FEI ranks.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” — Mark Twain
